About the Sorensen Branch:
The branch has PACs
(library catalog & Internet), Internet access computers, children's
computers with Internet access and Wireless Internet access.
The library houses a computer lab with eight work stations, a separate
glass-walled teen center with three computer stations, a new window and
window seat in the children’s area, a new service desk, new lighting
and carpeting, and fresh paint. In addition, the east entrance of the
recreation center is now more accessible to handicapped users.
This “lost wax” bronze sculpture entitled “Children Reading on a Log"
is on display inside the A. V. Sorensen Library. The sculpture has been
commissioned in memory of Pam Scott, a former Omaha Public Library
Manager, who passed away in September 2007. Donations for the sculpture
have come from her many friends, coworkers and family and are being
coordinated through the Omaha Public Library Foundation.
